Who is responsible for your information
Jass Catering Ltd (trading as Jass Foods) is the data controller for personal information submitted through this website.
What we collect, and why
Catering enquiries. When you send an enquiry we collect your name, mobile number, the date and number of people, your description of what you need and, if you choose to give it, your email address. We use it to reply to your enquiry and to talk through your event. We may contact you by phone, text message or email about it. Sending an enquiry does not create a booking.
Text messages and emails to us. If you text or email us, we keep the message so we can answer you and have a record of what was agreed. When you text our business number, your message is passed on to our team (and our replies to you), so neither side needs to see the other's personal phone number.
Tiffin waitlist. If you join the waitlist we collect your email address, and use it only to tell you when the Tiffin service launches.
Security. Like most websites, our servers may record technical details such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and to limit automated abuse.
Please do not put unnecessary sensitive information in the message box. If you need to tell us about an allergy, that is welcome and relevant to your event - but we cannot confirm allergen information through this website, so we will discuss it with you directly.
We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell them.
Who else handles it
When you send a form, we pass it on to our own team by email, and by text message to the owner's phone. Emails are sent, and emails you send to our catering and Tiffin addresses are received and passed on to our team, through Resend, an email delivery service, which handles the content of those emails and the addresses involved. Text messages are sent and received through Twilio, a messaging provider, which handles the phone numbers and the content of those texts. Google reCAPTCHA may load on the forms to help prevent automated abuse and may receive browser, device or network information. The website and its database are run on a hosting provider's servers (to be named here once chosen). These providers handle information under their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
Catering enquiries, and the text messages exchanged about them, are deleted automatically 12 months after you send them, as are our records of emails you send us. Tiffin waitlist email addresses are kept until the service has launched and we have told you, or until you ask us to remove you - whichever comes first. Copies held by our email provider, or in server backups, may remain until they expire in the ordinary course.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and in some cases to restrict or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
